Push button modification

I haven't found any thread dealing with this, so I thought I'd throw it out there. I have a 10 Series FR-S with the push button start. Has anyone modified the button to make it a toggle switch like the new Mini Cooper?

Piece of cake. Rewire the push button into a momentary toggle switch. Basically does the same thing as the push button does but with a flick up or down instead of pushing.

Looks like about $2 for a cheap one here.

Not really sure why you'd want to do this, but that's all you need.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not looking for a cheap toggle switch. I want something that looks factory like the Mini. After talking to someone in parts at the local Mini dealership, they said that the switch doesn't come in one piece. It's part of the console. So, if anyone knows of a way to fabricate something like the Mini please let me know. Thanks

This would be considerably less than trivial. The pushbutton has logic in it and the plug has 6 wires (I think, working from memory). The actual contact itself must be simply closing 2 wires, but you would have to dismantle the stock switch and intercept that connection before passing it to the remainder of the button logic.
