FX300/FX350 Clutch or Exedy Stage 1/2 Clutch?
Ok so ive done a good bit of reading up on the best clutch upgrade to keep the most stock feeling and Ive narrowed it down to either the FX 300/350 or the Exedy Stage 1/2. Sounds like the FX has moderate noise, but the exedy has had issues with lockout...
Looking for the quietest setup with least gear vibration(not to be mistaken with clutch chatter), while having the closest to stock feeling (heaviest flywheel or closest to stock weight). Ill be running a turbo kit at about 250 torque. |
Exedy all the way in my opinion. Stage 1's are pretty underrated and would most likely work just fine.

Yeah sorry sportsguy no offense but I've seen the posts about you being one of 10+ people with issues with it...

Have had the FX300, Exedy Stg1, Exedy Stg2 (currently on car). I think my install flow was
Stock -> FX300 (turbo kit installed) -> Stg1 (hated FX300) -> FX300 (couldn't handle e85 tq, thought it might break-in more) -> Stg1 (lowered boost, 91) -> Stg2 (preparation) The Exedy Stg1 handles ~300wtq, so just stick to that. It drives the closest to stock, not very noticeably different. The Stg2 is a nice compromise between stg1/fx300, just a tiny bit grabby, nothing compared to the FX300. Hated the FX300 for daily driving. |
I think exedy stage 1 might be better than FX300 for daily drive, but I am really worrying about the lockout issue.
