Headlights of Choice...
Hello guys...
IDK if its the correct location to ask, but here it goes... I am currently in the market of purchasing new headlights. So i would really like your guys' opinion on what looks nice. I am torn on the Spec-D "boomerang" headlights or the Winjets Both will be black housing. I currently have a Whiteout FRS. -thanks in advance |
BRZ
Neither... but i'm a fan of keeping it oem or going with legit parts. So for me BRZ or 10/Monogram/GT86 headlights only...
Theres people in the SD86 group with issues with afterparket headlights. One guy with winjet/ another with spec-d, issues with them peeling. I honestly would just use my OEM and bake them. save money.
i'd get either BRZ headlights or custom painted housing FRS headlights.
Just like everyone else said.... Monogram/10Series, BRZ, or get the stocks painted and retro fitted professionally.
just throw some morimoto projectors in stockers and call it a day.
BUT if i had to pick...Spec-D |
spec -d winjets makes cheap products imo, i have gt86 headlights so i'm good

I love the Spec-D boomerang lights; bought them for my FR-S as soon as they came out and don't regret one penny I spent on them :)
Out of all the headlights, I was debating between Winjets or Spec D and went with the Spec D just because of the style of it. Going to retrofit them when I get them.
For those who went with spec-d....how much did you guys pay???
BRZ headlights + STI clear lens + Osram CBI 5000k + TRS XB led fogs
=> light up 7 lanes of freeway and no glare to oncoming traffic |
I'll say this once and one time only. There's a reason why the Winjet and Spec D headlights are so cheap compared to stock FRS/BRZ headlights.... That reason being that the quality of the aftermarket headlamps is no where near that of the factory headlights.
Those aftermarket headlights are never sealed properly and almost always at some point develop condensation in them. Also the projectors in them aren't all that great either and usually aren't meant for HID bulbs. Sure you can throw a $50 eBay hid kit in there, but wait a year or so and watch how shitty your headlights end up looking from the excessive heat. Ask me how I know? Been there done that and learned the hard way. Be patient and save your money for the quality parts. |
