I'll be putting is some track time at Midvaal on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th Dec.

Feel free to join in - they're open track days.
All you need is a helmet, long-sleeved shirt, long trousers, closed shoes (takkies OK), your car, and R500.
Here's the drill http://www.midvaalraceway.com/TrackDays.aspx

Car's prepped and packed, ready for action!! :)

C'mon guys, come play.
Remember that it's YOU that decides how fast you want to go on a racetrack, so your level of risk is 100% in your hands.
IMO, a racetrack (Midvaal especially) is a lot less risky than driving on the public roads.
All the traffic's going in the same direction, at a similar speed, no taxis, nobody jumping traffic lights, and no drunks. :D

Next year I'm gonna give it a bash! My (very!) brief stint at Kyalami (watching @sav spin behind me :laughabove:) in the wet behind a safety car and all the below advice has helped me make up my mind! :party0030::w00t::thumbup:

Well, I'd hoped to go sub 1m20 and I don't know if I did or not because I don't have a timer, and my video recording is erratic.
A lot of the time I think it's recording and it isn't. :bonk:
Sadly, my last session yesterday didn't record because I was pushing it to see what I could do.

Anyway, here's a lap which did record - on Saturday
- with a passenger on board
- on a damp track (you'll see puddles in places)
- with all the nannies on (I keep them on when I take passengers out)
- and I wasn't giving it horns, just driving quite quickly and smoothly

= 1m21.7, avg speed 110.1kph
