The rise of cost of kits and other acciesories
When I first was looking into getting my Scion frs back in April of 2014, I was also looking into some of the simpler mods I would be able to afford pretty much off the back. My top prize being the rocket bunny gt wing. At that time it was around $500-$900 from what I could find. I've own my scion frs since August now, and I finally have saved up enough to start spending on small mods. But when I went looking for the Rocket bunny gt wing the price has sky rocketed up to $2600 as of black Friday. And I've noticed more mods and parts have had similar jumps in prices but nothing as extreme, anyone else notice this trend, because it's making my build of my frs so much more unrealistic now that prices have been on the rise for parts. Which is very unfortunate because one of the top reasons why I got it was because of how good of a platform it is to build up on. It's great stock too, I mean I love it, but I was really pumped to build up my car since I never build up my previous car for it was a junker and not worthwhile too.

Do you really want a silly rivet on body kit that adds unnecessary weight to a lightweight car?
|
Well it's more then just proformance parts, I'm building up the car to fit my style and tastes, I'm not the biggest fan of rocket bunny's body kit I like it but I favor the varis body kit more(it's the one I plan on getting) but the looks of the rocket bunny's gt wing just can't be pushed off, and with how light the car is I've noticed it needs some downforce once you get over 120ish, the wing does create enough downforce to stabilize it at higher speeds.

Oh this is gonna be fun!

You don't buy this car to go 120. Handling connection defines this car, it's at home in the mountain roads.
Where are you gonna go 120 anyway. |
Does it matter if it's a track or the highways 120 is 120 it's not even the top speed of it at stock, but my entire point was that I've been looking into the prices of parts and I find it outrageous that prices have been going up so much and right now on Freddy's sir just the Wong is marked at 2600 here's the link http://www.greddy.com/products/aerod...s/rocketbunny/

Greddy's **

Why uh... Why would you want the GT wing without the rest of the kit? It looks so stupid. Hell, it looks stupid ON the rocket bunny kit. The V2 wing is worlds better. You'll have no practical use for the GT wing since you're not going to be driving in the GT series, or making more than 300hp, or going at speeds that mandate the massive amount of downforce that wing can produce.
I've just never understood. GT wings on street cars look awful. And usually I'm all for different strokes for different folks, but not on this... Also jesus, the Greddy site is terribad. Go to www.FT86speedfactory.com |
Hey I like the look of the gt wing on the frs, but it's all in taste different people will like different styles, I like the looks of greddy's rocket bunny gt wing but I not in love with the rest of its body kit, I plan on Frankensteining it with the varis body kit which I like better for its more curvy lines

Ehhh... yeah, ok. I can see that. Fair enough! But seriously check the site I linked they have better pricing.

Or do you just want a wing "Because"? |
Partly because of the looks and because brand new and stock with everything in check, after the 100-120+Mark I've noticed that the rear end likes to wiggle (a lot), which is from the lack of grip from the stock tires, and how light the rear is. So with the slightest change in the winds tosses it around

You guys give the kid a break. He's going for the F&F look. It's ok kid! Your car your money you do what you want!
Prices have actually came down for some stuff. Me I don't buy for style though so I dunno nothing bout no stinking tack on tacky body stuff. |
