How does this header look?

I hate buying stuff on eBay normally, but at this price it is a steal. What brand does this look like. Does it look decent? http://www.ebay.com/itm/271704018028...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Thank you!

Looks like an HKS EL header. Assuming that is what it is...That's a steal of a price.... Maybe for a reason?

Ebay plus performance parts? I don't know man...

apelpapa 12-15-2014 12:27 AM

I emailed the Seller, we will see what brand he says it is. He claims only 6 track hours in the post.

That's exactly what it is. There are about ten different vendors selling the same knock off

To be fair, the seller never mentioned that the item is HKS.

Did they eyeball this??
http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzY4WDEwMj...UHH3d/$_57.JPG

I wouldnt take the chance at all. Also look at the burn marks arounds the weld, the alloy is really cheap stuff. Wouldnt be surprised if heavier than stock.

someone on this forum bought one awhile back. It did have some gains, he ended up selling it after the dyno.

I agree with you the welds tell the entire story IMHO.....

You get what you pay for. There's tons of headers for this car that are reviewed and from reputable brands. Spend the money, you have a $30k car.

That's just the problem.
People looking at cheap parts are also the ones who can barely pay for the car + insurance after all other expenses are accounted for.

I always stick with a simple rule of thumb: your car is whatever the monthly payments are x2 + insurance. The x2 covers the regular maintenance and unscheduled repairs that may show up from time to time. Any money beyond this that was budgeted for the car would be the mod budget... and it's very surprising how many people have not bothered to think about how expensive modifying a $30k car is, let alone a $15k one.

In other words: a lot of people drive a $30k car when their budget really should only allow for a car half that price.
