Carbon Exterior parts and Lip Kit!!!!
Sooooooo.... us FRS guys in the next month or so will have A LOT of carbon parts available... working with a local manufacturer to make this happen.
Can't wait for this to be released to the public!!! I will be aiding with this project and the re sell of such product. Cannot release too many details, but check back on this thread for updates. parts to watch out for... front lip, rear carbon add on, side skirts... (also full poly kit) carbon fenders, hood, roof and trunk!!! other carbon parts will be released as well but cannot reveal until they are about to launch!!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: |

that should be in the works too. i think on my car personally i will be running a flat black spoiler and the trunk garnish in flat black for contrast.
spoiler will be tasteful and not too aggressive most likely a lip style spoiler. |
Carbon replacements are going to be a hard sell in this site OP..and it isn't like this car is heavy.
The aluminum hood is already very light, and if you are going to push a carbon replacement it needs to be properly vented (preferably reverse vented) as well as dry carbon-carbon composite and not Carbon FRP which will probably add weight over factory. I am guessing your carbon products will be plenty expensive trying to retain performance and additional gains over stock. But i am interested in your polyurethane parts. Can't wait to see what you have in store...you should try to give us a teaser. |

As far as carbon frp goes it will in fact be that... Dry carbon is too expensive for such a car (if some company does take the risk I do tip my hat to them) but being a 25k car most carbon stuff will be for looks... In the broad scope of things this car is marketed as a scion and will attract a certain clientele on top of the performance/track guys. The 18-25 "tuner crowd" and most people love the look of carbon and do not necessarily care about the performance aspects and weight reduction part of it. I love dry carbon and would rock it in a heartbeat... But when a properly vacuumed almost resin less proper dry carbon hood or other parts are produced the cost and final market price is just too costly to effectively market and sell to the general public. |
Ok I keep seeing the word roof with carbon fiber. How do you install a roof let alone take the original off to put on the carbon roof? Is it hard or is this piece just an adhesive?

Wet layup epoxy resin with light carbon fabric, vacuumed and baked can come pretty close to autoclaved dry prepreg carbon in strength and weight.
