New owner! Question about warranty and brake pedal vibration

Hi everyone,

I just purchased a used 2013 Scion FR-S in Firestorm red with 1,6000 miles on it! I’ve only had it for a couple of days but I love this car. I have a few questions if you guys don’t mind answering.

My FR-S is nearly 2 year old car. How does warranty work? I’ve attached the warranty information below, from Scion.

Basic 3 year / 36,000 miles
Free Maintenance 2 year / 25,000 miles
Drivetrain 5 year / 60,000 miles
Roadside 2 year / 25,000 miles
Rust 5 year / Unlimited miles

My main question is about the Basic warranty, what exactly does that cover? Do I just bring it in to any Toyota/Scion dealer? Or does it vary from dealer to dealer? Also, am I still eligible for free maintenance? What does that include? Just oil changes or other things?

Thanks!

These were questions that you should have asked the dealer really.
You will get the balance of the mileage/timed warranties.
Basic covers anything that is not a "wear part" (brake pads, wiper blades, tires, belts, etc). Read the warranty materials that should have come with the car (likely with the manual so read that as well while you are at it) for exactly what is and isn't covered under each warranty.
Not a clue about the services but would guess no.

i think the free maintenance is basically 3 free service appointments @ 7500, 15000 and 25000 miles. So at 16k i would guess that you are entitled to ONE more service appointment. So make sure that you bring up any lingering issues ie HPFP (fuel pump chirping), etc. if they haven't already been taken care of.
