Head unit advice

I am so behind the curve on car audio I'm in serious need of advice. My new BRZ is on the way with the six speakers installed ready for a head unit. Your learned suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ;)

I'm not brand loyal after all these years of having no stereo in my cars, but brand names give me a little more confidence, but hey, I might not have the option based on what I want. My only defining criteria are the following:

  • Double DIN
  • Capable of playing video as well as audio
  • Backup camera capable (having a camera setup available from the same manufacturer as the head unit is desirable)
  • Capable of running Torque app (this is my number one need and I would very much prefer being able to run it natively, NOT relying on a smart phone and plugging it into the OBD2 port, not bluetooth)
That's pretty much it. I want to watch my gauge app, videos on long drives and music all the rest of the time. What are my possible options?

Check out the Ca-Fi thread

That headunit has everything your looking for, it's not the most well unknown brand but so many on the forum have brought and reviewed it. Im in the market of looking for one also. There is also the App Radio 4 by pioneer too you can checkout.

Oh, and before anyone else says it try searching first, I'm positive similar threads have been started.

Yea I have been thinking of getting one myself since my stock unit's bluetooth crapped out. The good think about this one is that so many people have them you can always find someone who can help troubleshot something. Plus this one sits flush in are cars since its a double-bin 7" wide unit.
