AT Launch Issue
Whats up guys? So I have read the threads about launching/burning out in the automatic transmission, and have successfully launched using the break and throttle method a few times. Now last night, I did the same thing, however once I got the tires spinning and let off the brake, the car seemed to "bog" hard. It was like three semi-violent jolts, and then it took off. I don't really know how to properly explain it. Right afterwards there was a noticeable smell that went away after about a minute of driving. Any thoughts as to what I did wrong/what may have happened? I had no issues driving today, transmission was fine...

I know this a little off topic, but have you thought of upgrading the torque converter if you're going to be launching the car?
No I wouldn't do that just because I don't track or Auto-X the car, and it's a lot of money from what I have seen. For spiriting driving, it launches just fine, except for the situation I described above ahaha.

I wouldn't launch the car.. unless there is launch control setup, which there isn't.
Hard to say what it was, but if it's working and hasn't broken yet stop doing that before you do break it.
Did you even turn off traction?, but yeah, don't launch an auto when it was not built to be launch like that
yeah I have an auto also. Right now im still deciding if I want to go tuned or not at the moment im running borla catless headers, perrin cat back, k&n drop in filter, new intake pipe. I love the idea of tuning and I know when done right it can actually help the car in the long run. Im just worried about if it doesn't help and makes things worse and also the warranty would be off.
