long ignition times in cold weather

I have a new AT less than 5k miles. 2014 model

in cold temperature, the ignition can take double the time (1 full second vs 1/2 a second). it always starts on the first time though.

is anyone else experiencing this issue and is this something to worry about?

Could be the gas. Winter gas has more benzene or something that ignites at lower temperatures to ensure easy starting in winter, but lower gas mileage. It could be that your gas station hasn't switched over to the winter blend yet.

I reckon it's just the cold ..... I wouldn't worry about it .....;)

Yeah I also have an auto with 11k miles. Since past two weeks few times ive started it seems to take a second or two then the neighbors are awake ;). I also usually let mine idle till the water temp is alittle over 100.
