I don't have my car yet so I can't go look. but do the stock front seats have an airbag in them (nearest the door)??
if so this'd be an issue for replacing them but keeping road legal. :s
cheers

Even if they don't have airbags in the seats, they'll still have sensors in them related to the airbags that can cause the airbag light to come on and may cause issues if they are removed. Sucks, its one of the things I hate about all the modern safety equipment required by law now.

Remove sound-deadening material under carpet.

For the heck of it I weighed the stock lug nuts versus a Muteki one I had left over from my WRX. Stock are 25 grams the Muteki was 33, for a closed nut.

Stock shift knob is weighted for feel, just under 10 OZ (280 grams)
Replaced with 3 OZ delrin knob and feel is great so far but might experiment with some heavier knobs if it gets notchy or vibrates.

That's strange, the stock lugnut weighs 59 grams on my postal scale. Replaced with the Kics R26 which come in right at 26 grams each.

I don't know the Muteki ones were right at what their stated weight was supposed to be. The stock ones are definitely lighter than those.

Damn 200 dollars for lug nuts...

Update on our brake systems. Our Sprint Competition Brake System saves 10 lbs. per corner!

Captain Insano 09-13-2012 07:52 PM

Awesome, that's alot per corner. I've had lightweight brake packages on cars and was pleased with that modification. Bet it would feel even better on this lighter car compared to the heavy cars I've done that to!!

We are working on some aluminum seat rails for race seats right now. I'll post up what those weigh vs. stock soon. I'm guessing roughly 20lbs. per side.
