My set of RS*R coilovers has a shipping weight of approx 30kg including packaging. Just curious what OEM weight is. I'll only be swapping mine out in about 2 weeks so I can post if no one else does. In the mean time it'd be much appreciated if someone beats me to it ;)

I will be able to tell you that once my KW's show up...here soon..:)

Does anyone know the stock bumper beam weights? I have an Oswald Performance front beam on my WRX and it shaved 20lbs off the front. The Beatrush front and rear bumper beams look like a good way to reduce weight. They look like they are designed to tie up and stiffen rather than provide bumper/crash protection.

Nice thread. Weight savings adding up, I'm going to weigh my car at the Ultimate Track Car Challenge as I've shed lots of this stuff. Worried my brakes, wheels and tires have added substantial weight but lap times will still be better because of it.

The AP Racing competition brake upgrades we're developing will provide a wide array of benefits, and will drop a substantial amount of unsprung weight. Our Heavy Duty system should drop 2-3 lbs. per front corner, while our Sprint system should drop 7-8 lbs. per corner. Vastly superior brakes and significant unsprung weight savings=best of both worlds. More details soon... :party0030:

remove passenger seat instead of rear seats?

what do you think of removing the passenger seat and the rear seat base behind the driver instead of removing the rear seats? It will stay a 2 seater, but with less weight and better weight distribution. The problem with lack of leg space will be solved too.

-21.2lbs by removing rear seats
-42.3lbs with this method

Of course it would work but it would look a little odd... Upside is you could fit Shaq in the car!

I've created another thread in the Suspension/Chasis/Brakes forum that references a lot of data from this thread. It is primarily focused on the difference in weights between components to more easily figure weight loss potential. It wouldn't have been possible without this thread!
