Toyota 86 GTS on a windy Adelaide Hills road

There are some amazing driving roads in the hills of the town that I live, Adelaide, a quiet little city in southern Australia. The roads have been, over the years, host to many great driving events, such as the Classic Adelaide Rally (a crazy road rally event) and the Climb to the Eagle, an event started way back when we used to host the Formula 1 (curse you, Melbourne).

A few years ago, my friends and I started to film these roads in our free time, bringing a different interesting car along for the ride. Ever since our very awkward first video in my Peugeot 206 GTi, however, there was one car had our eyes on as a 'dream' car to film. It was a car that was literally perfect for the twisty, technical roads of the Adelaide Hills. You guessed it, the car was the Toyota 86. Our first brush with the 86 came while filming what was, for a long time, our final episode, when a WRB BRZ pulled over to have a chat to us about the lime green Fiat X1/9 we were filming. The BRZ was, at the time, only half a year into the market, and we (or certainly I) was drooling all over it.

This year, finally, we managed to lay our hands on an 86 and film another episode. We aren't good actors, and I apologise for the unscripted dialogue. However, I believe we managed to show the car doing what it does best - exploring great driving roads!

Thanks, it is very beautiful. The problem is that there's not much time to look at the scenery when you're driving!

I can assure you that we were using full throttle, where appropriate, for much of the filming! The shockingly high fuel consumption we achieved is testament to that (in the order of 12L/100km). If you are referring to how fast we took the corners, well, this is a public road. We have already received some attention for one of our previous videos, so you can understand why we would want to avoid anything that could get us in trouble.

You guys need to invest in some good lapel mics. Hard to hear.
