Function>Form!!!!!!!

Before I get any grief about the title of this thread this is just my personal opinion after running both setups. Went from that fender liner tearing/bump scrubbing/stiff as hell suspension/stretched tire/cant cut your wheel all the way set up to a tire slaying/corner taking/pothole hitting/ricky bobby I want to go fast set up!!!! Let me just say it feels so good to be able to drive this car hard again.

Looks killer both ways. I'm loving the new setup though.

illest86 12-07-2014 01:41 PM

Yeah, what's the difference here? A half inch? It's minimal!

Lookin' good and functional.

So what you're saying is that you got new tires and changed your suspension, right?

themadscientist 12-07-2014 05:56 PM

It depends. By going too far in any direction you sacrifice in others. The first setup accentuated a certain look and I'd say you achieved it, but then you tried to use it and it failed. Going back the other way you regained versatility, but I have to say you didn't sacrifice much at all to the look. It still looks sharp.

My old Silvia was pure function, but the form of a completely stripped interior and I mean stripped down to bare metal with two front seats was a really abusive form. My buddies sneakers melted, I cut myself on all the exposes stamped metal edges and it was loud as hell at almost any speed, but it did what I built it to do.

the RPF1 setup and fitment looks way better

SkAsphalt 12-08-2014 04:59 PM

...the pictures show maybe a half inch rise and rims that are smaller with better matched offsets.

car looks great..but the topic is kind of a mixed bag of purpose

does look damn good. Good to hear the second setup is significantly more pleasurable than the first! That's what it is all about.

TylerLieberman 12-08-2014 05:15 PM

Both look cool but I love the second one.

Probably cause of the bronze rpf1s. Those things are killer

AC condensor and oil cooler taking direct rock hits? Function I guess.

kosoku 12-08-2014 09:11 PM

So refreshing to read this. Now just take that sticker off the front of your windshield for a better view while driving (Function>Form right?)

@srt4_nght_rider you setup is sick, I'm new here and if you don't mind me asking what are your wheel measurements

How did they not before? The grill doesn't stop rocks smaller than a quarter anyway. The only thing the grill is good at is stopping leaves.

I'd guess 18x9.5 +38.

Looks real good.
