FS thread cleanup

I was wondering if we could lock down our for sale thread? There is so much useless banter and chatter in there it makes it a pain to search through.

Maybe we can add a few rules to posting in the thread, and have a mod oversee it once a week to remove chatter, delete huge post quotes for simple question that should've been asked via PM, etc.

Should be better for buyers and sellers alike.

Or just make a sub section within so cal section that is for sale threads only so post bumps don't clutter it

That's a good idea too. On Rx7club the Regional For Sale threads eventually evolved into Regional For Sale sections.
But, first we have to get them to uncluster the mess that is the Engine/Transmission/Exhaust Section.
It makes it really easy to sell parts when all you have to do is search the local wanted posts for the parts your selling.

I'm with you on this one. We have enough activity in the FS thread that warrants a sub-section. Would be way easier to navigate than the current ghetto FS thread.

Define "bumps", is re-posting an item you listed several weeks ago the same kind of bump you're referring to?
As for deleting the large quotes and posts that should be PM's, I completely agree.

I dont really see this happening. How many "warnings" have you seen in the regular FS section which gets lots more traffic regarding "Post a pic of the product" or "post a pic with a paper and your name on it" etc.

I think the mods are stretched thin, so unless they make one of us a mod for this section only, not much will change.

One irritating thing for me in general is that everyone removes all info/price when an item sells. Sucks because sometimes you wanna know what the going rate for a used part is. Or more photos of something...but you cant see that since everyone deletes all traces of everything haha.

Oh, and Sh*TTing in peoples threads. Can we(usually noobs who have no intention of buying anyway) stop that?
"Selling an item for $INSERT PRICE? Well Guess what?! I can order that from your mom for $100 less!"

I think defining bumps is something that needs to be addressed. On Rx7club you cant bump your forsale threads more than once every 48 hours, but back when we just had a single groupthread, it was only once a week.

easy to follow rules.
1. pm ALL replies.
2. no sell, no post.
3. 1 week bump max.
4. location, price/obo/firm, shipping, pic, description. no testing waters.

I'm just going to tag the SoCal forum Mods in case they didn't see this thread. That for sale thread is just ridiculos. @WingsofWar @ichitaka05 @Guff @Dave-ROR @MannyO @M-17

I would do it as well. I'm shocked they don't have regional members as moderators for each reigon & volunteers for each section.

Thanks for the mention. I'll talk w other mods to see about this.

Best bet would be a SoCal For sale sub-section with the same rules as the normal for sale section.
Or, just make a stickey on the first post with some rules and apoint a mod to keep the thread clean.

A Southern California for sale sub-forum would be great
