Door handle lock/unlock issue.

Can't seem to figure out the reason everything stopped working. I had my 2013 BRZ Limited set so that holding the driver door handle unlocks both doors.

Now months later, the proxemity locking mechanisms won't work at all. The car starts with the keys in my pocket and with the car locked, the trunk will still open from the outside with the keys in my pocket.

But the front and passenger doors will not unlock without physically hitting the buttons on the remote. When I touck the locking sensor on the handle, the car makes a constant alarming noise as if the keys have been left inside the car.

Any ideas?

Might be as simple as a new battery for the fob.
Also, maybe disconnect the battery and reset everything. might be worth a try.
otherwise, looks like a trip to the dealer. Still under warranty?

I hear ya there. It's a pain. A simple oil change is a whole morning affair. Jeesh, I'll do it myself and be done in 20 min.

Trouble is, we used to be able to fix most things. Now, you need a BA degree in computer science to fix this stuff.

Thankfully my BA in Communication Studies pulled through on this one. My spare remote was under the seat.
