Baby Blue has her first bath

Got home this afternoon in a fairly heavy rain.

Stepped outside after a half an hour and water was over the sidewalk in front of the house.

Here is a photo after the water level fell far enough to walk on the sidewalk.

That was a short rain shower. The big one is coming Tuesday.

I think I'll park on higher ground for that.

Cheers,

LD

Could be worse!

For some reason I take joy in seeing our little car buried in crazy Canadian snow.

That is last year with my Lancer actually.
The day is coming for the FRS though.
Drove it through 18 inches of snow last week. Was a blast!

At first glance, all I saw was tailights and what looked like ultramarine blue. Regardless, its almost cartoon-like how much snow you get up there.

What kind of tires did you buy? I got Goodyear UltraGrip Ice WRT's. So far, so good.

Brrrr!

I grew up in Edmonton.

I remember running the cord from the kitchen to our car to keep the engine block from freezing at night.

My wife works at a trailer place and got us both tires from one of their suppliers for next to nothing. They are GT Radial Ice Pros which are a relatively unheard of brand but what most of the local police forces use so I figured can't be too bad.
So far in the last two weeks I have had to drive in pretty much every snow/ice combo you can get and they have been outstanding.

I've been in some Canadian and Michigan winters, including some of the last few bad ones. I'm happily back home in SoCal - today was actually pretty rainy!

A lot of people mock us for "overreacting" but there were some really intense cloudbursts today that were as bad or worse than most rain I've been in elsewhere in the country and world (though luckily for about 5 minutes only, then back to drizzles). The nice thing is they almost never happen... but I'm certainly not excited for Tuesday.

My car got a "bath" but instantly kicked all the crap washing off the road to pool in the trunk/bumper area, and I have the halo color so it looks.... less than optimal!

This car is a hell of a fun time in the rain though... acts like it has a lot more HP since you can drift corners with no effort haha. Even with the stupid understeering 2015 suspension!

P.S. Car's looking good!
