Wanting More Power: What next?
 

Hey all, I have an Invidia N1 exhaust on the way and want some more parts to get some more power. FYI I'm a complete noob at this... So I need some aftermarket pipes and headers? And a tune? Can anyone recommend some good brands/parts I should go for most power? Budget is pretty generous!

Header and tune is the best way to get a bump in power that's actually noticeable.

Add some Crawford power blocks and a diff upgrade to that list. Still on the fence about a CAI, given how efficient the factory one is, otherwise you can add that too!


I'd do some searching on this site and some reading up. You also need to consider loosing the balance of your warranty the moment you add headers and or a tune.

Doing just intake, catted frontpipe, and overpipe / downpipe, and 93 or e85 tune is all you need to get a really good performance without changing much of the emissions aspects of the car. Recommend you check out Perrin's product pages here. Been in a tuned car with these mods and it was plenty powerful, sounded awesome with the perrin CAI.

Headers are the next step to get full modded exhaust setup, but you'll likely sacrifice emissions, and they're usually much louder than the stock headers.

OFT and OFH would be my first mods if power is what I was looking for.

4.56 diff final drive upgrade has proved to be the best performance mod for me so far.

Currently have ft86speedfactory headers, Motiv over/mid pipe, Greddy sp elite, light wheels , and a drop in with inlet tube. I know most of these aren't that geared toward performance, but it's something. Tune would likely be the next thing.

if budget is attainably generous (not talking that large @Tcoat) then go for a turbo kit. then move subforums and begin research.

Tomei UEL headers, crawford billet power block, and open flash tablet or ecutek for the tune. It'll give you the most power increase for your money. If you wanna go one step further, get a catless front pipe, though with your invidia n1 it'll be loud as hell

I am going turbo eventually, just wondering if i should buy all these other items first like the headers, front pipe etc?

Unless you're going SC, don't bother with a exhaust manifold. Most turbo kits come with one. 2.5 inch exhaust is fine for most turbo applications, it starts to become restrictive above 400 whp, which most don't push too.
