BC COILOVER ISSUE
 

So i tried searching for this issue on here, but no one has the same issue.

I just bought BC BR Coilovers that were used for 10,000KM. I trust the guy that i bought it from (gave me a great price), and he only has 12,000KM on the car. He said when they were on the car there weren't any clunking sounds.So I go home and start checking them one by one. I held each one and started to shake them, none of them made a sound except the one of the rears. When i shake it makes that sound thats close to when shaking a spray can, in sense that there is a ball or something going up and down. I don't know what the problem is. I have read, but not on these forums that it might be the shock cartridge. So does anyone have any similar issues?

Also, when i press down on the 'dust shield' or the thing under the actual spring, and start to shake it there is no noise anymore. Since these are the first coilovers i have ever dealt with i don't know whats wrong.

Sometimes when it is installed on the car, the weight of the vehicles removes these sounds.


Also, you can always use low noise rubber seat. that will allow the metals touching each other to be separated by the rubber.

I actually found the issue.

The bump stop is loose. Is it suppose to be that way? If not how do i fix it?

Did you end up figuring out the issue? Same thing happened to me when i turned the coilover upside down. I am still having clunking sounds from the rears since i installed them, used to it now but would like to find where the noise is coming from eventually.
