SF Auto Show/Auto Salon

As I'm sure many of you know, the SF Auto Show and Auto Salon are going on all this week at Moscone Center and the last day it's open is this Saturday Nov 29. I know several of our friends and fellow owners have their cars on display in the Auto Salon as well.

I haven't gone in a few years and I've been meaning to go this year but haven't had the time. So it looks like I'll plan to go on the last day, this Saturday. Anyone else want to join me? Possibly BART into the city, or maybe carpool?

@mellowyellow and I went on Saturday. It was a nice event. I had never been to the SF one and it's been a while since I had been to a car show like that.

I saw @NorCalGirl's sexy Bunny Hunter and her bro's Supra (love the "brother / sister" stickers btw!) and a few other twinsies at the "Salon" area. They had the RS 1.0 on display at the Scion booth. You can get free swag if you post a pic with their #. We got 2 Scion ballcaps

I think we spent about 2 hours there walking around. We had his 6 y/o daughter and she couldn't hang for very long. FYI, the food and drinks at the food court are WAY overpriced. $2.50 for a can of soda!

All in all, a nice trip to the city via BART and a good grasp on what's out there for the everyday driver. I kinda wished they had Scion's concept iM for me to peep at.

If anyone doesn't want their Scion ht and/or doesn't mind grabbing an extra it would make a wonderful bday/xmas gift for a certain club president :D

MyRx 11-27-2014 02:58 PM

Anyone else? Last day to see some of coolest local mod'ed cars

what do you guys think of taking BART into SF. Unless someone wants to chauffeur me into the City haha, I don't really feel like dealing with the parking and traffic there.

SLEEPER WRX 11-27-2014 10:58 PM

Count me in - I'd like to see the car show!

I'm also good to do BART - it will probably be raining, so not driving is OK

Where you want to meet up ?

Doh! I forgot about the weather. Well good thing the walk from BART to Moscone will only be a few blocks, but I'll have to remember to bring a small umbrella.

I'll suggest the Hayward BART station as it has a free parking garage. Or there's also the Castro Valley station where parking is $2.50 for the day. Alternatively we could just say meet at Moscone at a certain time. What time would y'all like to attend the show? It runs from 10AM - 9PM. And as Rachel mentioned I could see spending 2-3 hours there checking everything out.

ill be there tomorrow morning.

Going early sounds good to me - let's plan to be there when it opens at 10

Plato, I haven't ridden BART in a long time, so I'd like to meet up with you,
I'll drive and park at Hayward BART - what time early works for you?

MyRx 11-28-2014 03:37 PM

Yeah 10am is a bit early for me towing the kids to the city. At best, ~noon or later for me. And driving. Ya know, last minute deals on free brochures and giveaways haha

ok, guess we can go early then... first BART train leaves Hayward at 9:03 so maybe we meet up at the Hayward station at 8:50. That will get us to the city a little before 10AM. Next train is 9:23 and will get us there a bit after 10.

@MyRx maybe we can meet up with you for lunch somewhere near the show or at the show after lunch.

I've been meaning to go back to this great brewpub, near Moscone: http://thirstybear.com/about
So maybe we can grab lunch there.
