Tattoos cant really be priced as no two tattoo artist will charge the same. I would ask around locally for a shop that does good stuff. Take some time and pay each place a visit, look at pictures of previous jobs, etc.

I probably have $800-$1000 in tattoos on my body

expect to pay 100-200 per hour for good work, depends on artist, color, detail, etc

what are you planning on doing?

I have a full sleeve.....about $1300 so far. Probably around $2000 when I'm done. I will post finished pictures in a few weeks.

Shrek means "a big deal". Dreck means crap.

The main costs of tattoos are social, at least for visible tattoos. Unless your chosen profession is something like bouncing or motorcycle repair.

I agree. DO YOUR RESEARCH. It's something you're going to have your entire life so you don't want it looking like garbage. See the artists' work, ask your friends for any recommendations, browse around on Instagram (there's a good amount of tattoo artists on there so you can look at their work). You might be able to get some sort of a discount if the artist is your friends' friend, if you know what I mean. Prices are all dependent on the tattoo artist. I have a little one on my hip of a scorpion (b&w, maybe 5" x 6"?) and it cost me around, maybe $75 but I know other places that would charge double that.
