Those pesky curbs
 

I'm kicking myself for what just happened, since I had a feeling it was going to happen, and it did. But as I was pulling into a parking lot, someone was pulling out and wasn't all the way in their lane, which cause my right rear tire to jump the curb. Now, I inspected the curb and it's quite worn down, my guess from others hitting it, so that did release some tension. Also helps that it was a low one too. I inspected my rim/tire/body pieces and didn't see any signs of damage. I'll check the tire tomorrow just to be safe. I drove it some more and it seems to work just fine. No rattles, bumps, or anything of the such. Perhaps I just got lucky? :sigh:

First day with the frs my passenger was fiddling around with some stuff and I got distracted cut a turn too tight and popped a tire :cry: well the stock tires are about 250 if anyone was wondering

Thankfully you didn't damage a rim.

I went back to where it happened and measured how tall the curb was. It was sitting at just under 5". Ground clearance on the car is roughly 7-8", so I doubt it rubbed on anything. My only concern was it damaging anything on that side from being shot up that fast.

I did drive it for an hour or so and it felt fine. So maybe I did get lucky. Going to have it checked tomorrow just to be safe.

I curbed one of my rims on accident because I overshot a u turn I was making : /...I was still getting used to driving this car compared to the Challenger I had..ah well..I only scraped the outside lip of the wheel so no serious damage. I'm buying new wheels soon so I got over the sucky feeling quickly lol sorry to hear about that happening though.

Oh no! It's so sad to hear all these early wheel damage stories. When I bought new wheels for my MR2 last year, I only had them on for about 3 days before curbing one badly. Thankfully they were just cheapo XXR's so replacing one costs <$100.

This is the main reason I'll be happy to rock replicas for daily use

Well I jacked up my car and checked the wheel that hit the curb. No play in it at all and everything seems to be just fine. I then went underneath the rear to see if it scraped anywhere as well as to see if there was any damaged parts. Couldn't find any evidence of both. Perhaps I got lucky. I have an appointment in a few hours just to be safe.

Got it looked at, everything was ok! Dodged a bullet with that one!

meanwhile, in Insurance Land...an army of cavemen, Flo-bots, and geckos is salivating at the thought of increased premiums for this vehicle.
