smart key exterior door handle
 

Does anyone know how to remove the exterior door handle with touch unlock? I tried to remove it today but no luck. searched the forum there is only guides for regular door handles.

I tried the same thing for a long time... No luck. I ended up taping it off when I had to paint.

Don't let anyone tell you it's as easy as sliding it forward... It's not.

Its a little tricky to get opened up at first because it's Japanese, but the actual instructions and categories are all English once the directory is open.

So the service manual shows that there's a torx screw on the inside of the door that you have to remove to pull off the cover where the lock would normally be. Once you do that you:

" Removal of the front door outside handle ASSY LH

(1) Pull the front door outside handle ASSY LH towards the back of the vehicle, and release the front door outside handle frame SUB-ASSY LH.

(2) Pull the front door outside handle ASSY LH towards you, and remove it from the front door outside handle frame LH"

this is for the non smart key access isnt it?
