2015 NorCal 86Cup Topics & Talks

2015 NCRC Schedules...

NorCal,

NCRC has posted their 2015 schedule:

Everyone has made 2014 season awesome! From the first event with Plato and others to the most recent weekend event at Thill with everyone, it's been one hell of a year. Let's go one more time to finish off 2014 at the world famous Laguna Seca!! I know people are preparing for LS's selfish 90 db but to be honest, I think being out there with you guys will make it that much more memorable, 90 db or not.

If you are new and you plan and/or could join us in any of the 86Cup in 2015, PM your information so I can get you registered early with NCRC. It should make future registering easier and faster.

As for the existing guys, I'll post here with any new relevant information ie. transponder agreement/timing, etc.

Here's the breakdown of tracks days with NCRC: TBD...
LS --> 11 days
Thill --> 12 days
BW --> 4 days

What do you think of these dates????
CHRONO DATES for 2015:
Sat Mar 21 Thunderhill
Sun Mar 22 Thunderhill
Mon June 1st Laguna Seca
Sat June 27 Buttonwillow
Sun June 28 Buttonwillow
Sat Aug 8 Thunderhill
Sun Aug 9 Thunderhill
Saturday, November 28th Laguna Seca
Saturday, December 12th Laguna Seca
Sunday, December 13th Laguna Seca

Ending thoughts:
  • EQ Tuning's very own Chris won a free track with NCRC. I hope he may use it when the 86Cup is in town.
    Plato gets a nice BDay gift from local comrades of a paid track day. I think he's going to use for 12/27 86Cup @ MRLS.
    Solo drivers are practicing more and more for their chance to move up to PointBy. Should have plenty of room as 2 have moved up to Open. Congrats to all participants!

I for one am pretty happy there are more Laguna Seca events on the calendar, and would like to have more of those on the 86CUP calendar. I know the 90db limit is a problem for some of you, but I think we'd enjoy the closer proximity of the track to the Bay Area for most of us. Though maybe the higher cost of lodging down there might offset that benefit haha.

beyond that I don't have much input on specific dates ... have them when you can, and I will make it when I can. With Sat-Sun events being best but if you end up having one on a weekday, MAYBE I can work on taking a day off to go and I think it would be on one of those "quieter" days that we have the best likelihood of our group, getting something approximating an '86 only' session. :thumbsup:

I imagine the first order of business would be to confirm the 2015 rules, classes, and points as soon as possible. Are there gonna be changes for 2015?

I'm waiting on any changes from @CSG Mike . In the meantime, we are adhering to the 2014 rules.

However, NorCal sets up our own dates and amount of days. We can throw how many we want out so at the moment, 2-3 days with lowest participants.

How about adding in more dates but keep the participation requirement the same? Gives people more flexibility.

I for one would love to do more Buttonwillow! :bellyroll:

Should we just throw in the remaining 2 days at BW per NCRC? It'll be Sept 26/27.

Should we take away other dates?

feels like a little unfair advantage... unless we meet at somewhere neutral, like oh I dunno, Miller Motorsports Park or COTA. :lol:
