Will 215/55/17 fit?

Hey guys sorry for the question. I searched and couldn't find a definite answer. I'm looking at a 215/55/17 snow tire but the 55 seems like a lot of sidewall to me. Will this rub in the fender well at all? It would be on a stock wheel. Thanks!

It might fit without rubbing but would be nearly 2 inches taller than stock tires. Just remove the pesky fender liners and remind yourself the speedo is off by 8%.

I have no problem with the speedo but I'd rather not remove the fender liners. Thanks for the reply!

Looks like there are plenty in the stock size...

Yeah availability isn't the issue. I found a set of great condition used tires for much cheaper than new.

Unless you are in the desert where it never rains. I would never remove the liners. Also, the tire is way too tall. It will look stupid in my opinion.

At this point I think I'm more worried about how they'll fit than what they'll look like. They're just snows.
Edit: I'm also worried about dry traction. Should I be? I'm going to Pittsburgh this weekend and it's supposed to be dry and in the low to mid 40s part of the time and it might snow at other times. Will it be dangerous to be going about 75, in the dry 45 or so degree weather on snow tires?

heavens no

car might be squirmy under hard braking but that's about it

Great, thanks man. And you don't think it should rub in the wheel well at all? It's mostly highway driving, I'm not taking the thing off roading.
