So who's in Portland?

Might be in Portland next Wednesday night to pickup an MR2 to drive back to Florida with. Deschutes stop is a sure bet, will probably visit Rogue on the way south since driving an MR2 through SLC, Denver, etc would likely be suicide this time of year...

Any other breweries of note, or good craft beer places, in/around Portland? Not sure if I'll grab the car Wednesday night (probably) not, might hang out with the current owner, or may just relax somewhere near Duschutes.

Clearly I've done a lot of planning.

Widmer Brothers is pretty big here. I personally like HUB. There are plenty of microbrewery/pubs here. Can't go wrong with Deschutes and Rogue.

Plenty of owners in Portland and the surrounding areas, most of which are down with good brew.

I'm always down for a Deschutes run

Be sure to hit up Cascade and Hair of the Dog, my favorite two in the PDX area.

Gigantic, Breakside, Migration, Coalition, Base Camp, Upright, and Commons (plus the ones already mentioned HUB, Cascade, Hair of the Dog).

In other words, go to the Eastside. Deschutes and Rogue are fine but they aren't Portland breweries, they're extensions of their main breweries and, IMHO, all the ones I listed above are better.

Wait for Darren to get a hold of this his post will list over 100 brew pubs to hit!! Then again he could just host it at his garage since he probably has one of every companies beer in his garage fridge!!

His beer fridge is pretty empty needs more people to use his shop

Last night I went to Deschutes, Rogue, BJ's Pizza and McMenamins. :)

There are so many that you can't hit them all.

Next Wednesday, Dave, not this Wednesday, right?

I love me some Deschutes but I'm up for whatever. Rogue is on the way (sorta) so I'll likely stop at their main spot, not the brewpub in Portland. Deschutes I can't get anywhere near Florida so I'll be bringing some back with me. MR2 will be full of coolers so I can bring back maybe 36 beers lol

Not tomorrow night. The 19th. Probably landing around 7:30PM at PDX. Gotta find a hotel. Current owner of the MR2 is in Hillsboro but I probably won't meet up with him until Thursday morning. Can cab it wherever (or uber which I'm assuming exists in Portland), etc.

Uber actually isn't in Portland due to really old and outdated regulations. It's launching in Hillsboro and all the other cities surrounding Portland but I don't think that's happened yet. Definitely check though when you're here, they'll just start service up when they're ready. Luckily, I live in Vancouver across the River and we've had it since July! Many a drunk nights already where Uber has taken me home.

Definitely, some amazing chilli too. Though I've been mad at them ever since they got rid of the Will (a strong Scottish ale) a few years back. That was easily my favorite beer in the greater Portland area.

Posted in the dead ass beer thread.. but...

Tonights pickups from CBC in no particular order (beyond the order of the pic I took):
Saint Arnolds Chrismas Ale
Rogue 7 Hop IPA
Insanely Bad Elf
Jubilation Ale (It's JDM yo! seriously..)
Some german Christmas one I can't make out the name in the pic and too lazy to walk to fridge
Fat Heads Holly Jolly
Bad Elf
Very Bad Elf
Rogue Santa's private reserve
Green Bay Brewing Hinterland White Out (drinking this 9.4% IPA now.. it's OK..)
Founders Breakfast Stout (always a winner in my book)

Definitely up for meeting up and getting some drinks next Wednesday.
