Best Coilover Option for max low driving

I hate to make this thread but I've done my research and it seems like most coilovers on the market don't go max low.
Im looking for coilovers that i don't have to worry about maxing out, are under $2000, and ride the best for the ride height.
If there is a thread that covers this information please guide me.

These coilovers seem like the 3 big competitors. If anyone has experience and drives very low i would love to hear your thoughts.

BC Coilovers (extreme lows)

Stance Coilovers

326 Power Coilovers

save up and get bags?

or get bc extreme lows. don't expect very good ride quality though from bcs. Tein monoflex are 2k and allow up to 4" of drop but I doubt you want to spend 2k on those.

I have the BC racing extreme lows. Happy with the look of it, yeah ride is bumpier, but it's more soothing to me as weird as that sounds. This is not as low as it can go though, but its low enough for me.

At the shop when I had it lowered. The decal isn't on there anymore

Hell, if the truck is high enough you can drive under it haha

You could have found the answer on page 2 or 3 of the suspension forums...but you had to make a new thread...

You may want to consider RS*R Black-i

I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like a thread dedicated to discussing coil options for low street driving with no intention of track driving

I've had air ride on my past two cars (mk5 gti and mk1 TT) and i love air ride but i feel like a car like this should be on coils

I have bc's but just the normal, non extreme low version. They go plenty low as it is and I haven't had problems with them. I was actually surprised at how comfortable the ride was. Pic for reference Attachment 95501Attachment 95502

is that maxed?

AlexWood 11-10-2014 12:32 PM

Me? No, I'd say I have a 1/3 left to go before I max them. They'll go way lower than what I feel comfortable daily driving at so they work for me.

Serious question.

For the extreme drops where you end up with like <0.5 in bump travel, the spring rates required to not bottom out are rediculously high and no one makes springs that stiff. And there also aren't sshocks stiff enough.

Why don't people just use like empty hollow shocks and no springs and just rest the car on heavy duty bump stops? Since they can ramp up to the necessary stiffness and are self damping?
