Drone (Worn Wheel Bearing SOund) Sound From Rear

Hi Guys,

I am now convinced I got one of the bad batches of the FT86's.

So I have been hearing a very weird sound from the rear of my car whilst I am turning at low speeds. Sound like a bad wheel bearing (had this in my previous car). Happens both in reverse and at forward speeds upto about 30km/h.

I took it in today and the technician at Subaru said he couldnt diagnose it and they were waiting for a technician from Subaru Headoffice to come through and diagnose it (apparently this guys goes from Subaru to Subaru to deal with problematic cars). They suspect it is coming from the diff. (TOO much sideways action I think) :bellyroll:

At first I couldnt hear it because of Exhaust blip blip blip. Started hearing it when I only used my clutch to move. Thought I was imagining it until the wife asked what it was.

sorry to hear, i had mine for 4 days, when they had to replace a cam gear, as i had the idling issue, where the car would just stutter to a halt when stationery.

ps. if it is related to any sideways action, at least you will be covered under the warranty...... drifting is its biggest selling point as advertised !!!

thats why I waited for a year or 2 for them to weed out the issues in the early cars.

luckily you have warranty, so no stress

mine does the same

i think its the diff

i asked them to check at the last service and they didnt find anything. they said they made a note of it. So if it does trouble out of warranty it will be covered.

could it be the LSD?

So I was called today to bring the car in so they can do a proper diagnosis tomorrow.
Will keep you guys in the loop should they find something!

So they changed my diff oil.
I cant quite hear the sounds anymore but only drove it for ks to the office but it seems to have been fixed.

They say they changed mine at the last service (2500kms ago) but the sound never changed. Perhaps its not the same thing or perhaps they never did change the oil...
