will the stock radio suffice?
 

Hi gang,
Many moons ago 1990s I went the route of new headunit speakers, amp and sub's. Times and elecfronics have significantly improvred since then but i have not kept up and I don't know what's legit any longer and what new options are out there. I know how to use google search but I thought I could get some basic directions and recommendations from the community first.


Budget. I am not interested in spending big money here. I don't feel I need a subwoofer. Ideally I would love to just buy better speakers and not have to buy a new radio but, I don't know if the stock pioneer head unit will be good enough to push those new speakers. I am looking to get a little more bass from the new speakers. Do I need a new head unit ? Amp as well? Do we know of people out there who are happy with new speakers alone on a stock system? These stock speakers are trash and I can't hear much of anything . I think I already blew my right speaker. Any advice or basic component recommendations would be hugely appreciated. Thx
