Monogram headlight issues

Hey guys, I encountered a problem about a week ago. I own a 2014 scion frs monogram series which has HID headlights. I replaced the OEM bulb for diode dynamics 6k HID D4S bulb. It worked perfectly for about a month and then now my passenger side headlight keep shutting off on its own. Whenever i turn on the headlights, it would work, and about 30 seconds later the passenger side would shut off. I keep having to turn it off and on so it can stay on but in the end it just shuts off in a few seconds.
Im not sure whether its the bulb or the ballast itself. I figured it cant be the bulb since it still has a light output.. it just shuts off. any ideas? it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a ballast. I would contact Diode Dynamics and ask for an RMA.

Swap bulbs from side to side. If it continues to shut off on the passenger side, it's the ballast. If it now shuts off on the driver side, it's the bulb.

Keep in mind that most systems are 35w systems. If you use a 55w bulb in a 35w system, the bulb will flicker and fail to ignite, shutting off after it reaches operating temps.

If you run a 35w bulb in a 55w system, it will work fine, however some say that the 55w ballast will blow a 35w bulb prematurely (speculation, basic electrical theory does not work this way).

After testing out different scenarios, it came to the conclusion that is it in fact the bulb.
I swapped sides with the bulbs, and it shut off on the driver side now. I then tried switching out the diode dynamic HID bulb with my OEM bulb, and the OEM bulb never shut off. It can't be the ballast since it never shuts off the passenger side whenever I swapped sides, and it never shut off whenever it is OEM bulb. I believe one of the Diode dynamic bulb has faulty issues.

Another weird thing is that if i have the faulty diode dynamic bulb plugged in but outside the bulb socket with the car off but headlights on, it doesn't shut off. But as soon as it is in the socket it shuts off.
Then, once i swapped sides with the diode dynamics, in the socket it worked perfectly. never shut off, but as soon as i turn the car on, it shuts off the driver side.

For now I will be using my OEM bulb until I get a replacement on another HID bulb.
thanks for the suggestion guys.

Possibly a bad connection somewhere on that one bulb??? Contact DD yet?
