Scion FRS 2015 - Do you think it's totaled?
I recently just got in an accident guys, I was looking around to see if my brand new car was totaled I rear ended a guy their car is okay, but mines took some damage. I just want to get some opinions if you think it's total lost, the car is still drivable, but I want to see what our my chances of repair.
Will my car have a salvage or rebuilt title if I do repair it? http://i60.tinypic.com/2vkci11.jpg Please guys, i need help answering my questions ): |
Ask your insurance or a body shop these questions. Sorry about the accident though, but glad you're ok.

If the car is still drivable then that rules out some mechanical repairs. It looks like you just need a new hood and front bumper. Maybe a new crash bar and a radiator. Other than that, your headlight looks intact and fenders don't look crushed.
In the end, it's hard to tell without pulling it apart. |
No it's not totaled. You'd have to have an asston of damage for a brand new car to be totaled.
PS: Stop texting and driving or whatever the hell you were doing when you hit that guy. You're gonna hurt someone. |

thank you for the input fellahs, if the car goes unrepair will the car have a rebuilt or salvage title? |
That scion badge tho! lol

I doubt its totaled. Everything is supposed to crumple like that.
You won't know for sure until they check for frame damage and such. |

Amazing how well the paint stood up!
I hit some bugs once and the paint chipped. How fast were you going when you hit? It does not look like your air bag deployed. Did it? |
That should buff out no problem...

Also if the vehicle is totaled, the adjuster will give you two choices. 1. Sign it over to the insurance company and get the maximum settlement value for your vehicle. 2. Keep the vehicle as an owner retained salvage. If you decide to keep it as an ORS (Owner retained salvage) then it will have a salvage title once the DMV receives the 481 Salvage form from the insurance company. Be advised that if you go this route, they will deduct the salvage value of your vehicle from your settlement. And regardless which route you go your deductible will be deducted from your settlement. After looking at the photos and seeing how your fender's didn't crumple and no air bag deployment. It does not look like a total loss. |
