The cost of being exclusive BRZ vs FR-S

Waiting for my BRZ is killing me, especially because if I was willing to settle for an FR-S, I would already be driving mine.

I could have picked one up yesterday at one dealership (with almost 1.000 dollars in mark-up for nitrogen filled tires and some sort of paint protection), and as of Saturday there was like 5 still available in the metro phoenix area.

I know of a total of 4 BRZs in Phoenix area, and one is being held strictly as a demo car at one dealership. The others were pre-orders.

I wish the subaru was not so exclusive, then I might already be driving mine.

I feel your pain Evil. No BRZs from the dealers here yet, but the Scion dealerships have received 10+ between them.

Anyone who wanted a BRZ in 2012 should have done a pre order back on 3/1. Otherwise good luck except for the NE where they wll have a large number of them.

Couldn't be any more true.

Im surprised there isnt at least a similar amount of people going for the FRS as well. My local dealer got their first FRS in about a week ago, and it hasn't been sold yet. In addition to that, they got another one in, and 3 more coming in tomorrow... I'm surprised the first one hasn't sold yet... or maybe some poor sap doesn't know the car he put a deposit on has arrived and is being used for test drives as long as the dealer can milk it. Regardless, I am going to check them out tomorrow.

I'm in the same boat, so tempted to get a FRS because I don't want to wait!

I was probably the one lucky fool that didn't place an order on 3/1 (I did on 4/12 :eyebulge:) and still got my car this past week in Connecticut. I hope others don't have to wait much longer! Trust me it's worth waiting for!

Just get an FRS, it's the same thing. Soon enough there will be wrecked BRZ's left and right. You'll be able to pick your part and make your FRS into a BRZ....

Don't jinx the rest of us that will get it this year :confused0068:. Everyone, please take care of your car and save the shenanigans for track/autocross days.

Around here there are tons of BRZs available already. I know of at least 10 that aren't spoken for (mostly auto though)

Mango22 06-03-2012 05:54 PM

I am on the east coast, Northern VA, and we don't seem to be getting any BRZs yet. What's up with that! Grrrrrrrrr...

I don't know of any local area dealerships with unsold BRZs. This suck! I ordered one back in March but would jump at the chance if there were any others available now.

This waiting in the dark crap with no updates is really pissing me off.

Some areas aren't as lucky as others and have very few allocated, even for those of us that did order on 3/1.

I'm hoping the rumors for some redistributions are true because of cases like this but unfortunately you fall into a different distribution area so I doubt those New England area ones (which is where it seems most of the surplus is) would be redistributable to an SoA area like mine.
