Pink/purple license plate lights?
 

I can only find blue and white versions. Anybody know where I could find something like this?

Check your local laws. You might be having trouble finding different coloured license plate bulbs because they're illegal in most (if not all) places.

Balls! Seems only white is allowed in IL. That explains why my searching has been fruitless.

colorful lights in general are banned...
red, yellow, white. in the rear. Front you can have white, yellow

You could try contacting @KI_ZN6 - he was able to special-order a pair of red license plate LEDs for me that I'm super happy with, but like others have mentioned - I think that pretty much all license plate lighting is illegal except for anything that can be perceived as white.

It depends on your local laws, and the cops in your area - I haven't had any trouble with mine, nor the white side marker LEDs that I run. I've driven in tandem with a cop several times with those LEDs fully visible and they haven't so much as looked at me, but you should always make sure you're aware of what the law in your area actually states, and be aware of that.
