Perhaps if people want to meet at say, Diamond Bar area I'm cool with that. Otherwise, if any OC owners wanna meet around Irvine/Tustin area tonight (Thursday), I'll probably be around.

There's always the meet that Jeff @ Longo is trying to set up later this month...

Cerritos, El Monte, or even Diamond bar would be cool. El Monte is the closest for me. But its a pretty far drive for me on a weekday night... Depending on traffic at the time I may or may not make it to a meet if you guys have one tonight. Let me know where you guys decide to have one.

I will be working until at least 10pm tonight, unfortunately. :(

I'm in the Sand Canyon/405 area, usually.

Thanks for the encouragement. I usually rely on my fiance for car knowledge, but since it is my car, I'm trolling the forums trying learn what I can bit by bit. :D

HotLeopardMama 06-07-2012 03:05 PM

Oh--and I'm out for tonight. I play volleyball at Huntington Beach most Thursday nights during the summer.

HotLeopardMama 06-07-2012 03:06 PM

Might be a meet tonight at Cobb Tuning, though, too--their website says first Thursday of each month: http://www.cobbtuning.com/First-Thur...BB-s/70715.htm

Fish 06-07-2012 04:54 PM

I know the manager at Frontier Toyota/Scion. Maybe I can ask them if they'd like to host a meet as well.

Calidrifter 06-07-2012 05:00 PM

Combo breaker...lol

Just post where you will be on what day. If people are going to go then they are going to go. Now if it was a once a year thing I can see dealerships being a part of it.

We used to have a huge Celica meet in Chino Hills that started as a local gathering and ended up rivaling toyotafest.

Fish 06-07-2012 05:33 PM

Lol that came out wrong. I meant that as a future idea. Not today.

Damn, picking up a car in Utah. Now that's hardcore. Also, what an awesome way to break in the car.

Rowdybell 06-10-2012 11:48 PM

Hey guys gonna have a meet June 14th at the south bay galleria( 1799 Hawthorne blvd in redondo beach) in the west parking lot outside of kohls entrance, meet up at 8pm and go from there

Sometimes you just have to do what it takes! But yeah that was definitely draining considering my entire trip. Everything worked out perfect since Vegas was the halfway point. So I spend Saturday evening there partying for the Pacquiao fight (the outcome of the fight is another story). I finally just got back in to LA about an hour ago and I'm thoroughly exhausted.... but it's definitely rewarding. Getting the car for MSRP in the exact color and trim and options I wanted w/o having to deal with these shady Nor Cal and So Cal dealers.

^^Exactly why there prolly aren't as many new BRZ owner out here in SoCal as there are everywhere else. One, cause there are way more Toyota/Scion dealers, and Two, because the Pure Price thing means dealers have to physically add stuff to the car to up the price (which a lot do, but you can find some that don't --much, anyway).

It's also mainly why I have an FR-S instead of the BR-Z, though, as it turns out, I like the FR-S' price & looks better... prolly, in part, because it's mine. LOL

Gaiakai, I envy your color choice and purchase
I was going to order from findlay toyota as well but did not want to hassle with the issues of miscommunication between my father - dealer - me. So i dealt locally, but had a good customer experience with carlos. Congrats sir, passing on the Firestorm is by far the biggest regret i have. I'm jealous. :respekt:

Thank you, enjoying the car soooooo much :) Wait a minute.. You had a Firestorm 6MT on deposit with Carlos? I think this is your car, someone backed out of this one so my deposit was switched to this car because mine had not arrived yet (arrived a week or two after I think)

They're awesome, we run them on at least 8 to 10 cars at our shop. Very grippy. We daily drive them so reliability is there for sure. I highly suggest them.

It was great! Carlos was very professional and awesome - I probably bugged the crap outta him but he was very pleasant to deal with 100% of the time. More details in my journal if you're interested and have time :D
