The Most Quiet Exhaust? Catback Vs. Axelback + Fujitsubo Authorize R & S!
Hey, so i know there is a lot of threads for exhaust, however my concern is I want an exhaust that is quiet.
From what I have research, Apexi/Tanabe/zeta performance are pretty quiet??? I'm looking for something louder than the stock exhaust, but nothing to loud. On my subaru I have a Fujitsubo Legalis R catback and i love that exhaust with a passion. It's very quiet and daily driver friendly though i never drive that car anymore. I know Fujitsubo has made the Authorize R but the thing holding me back is how loud it is in real everyday driving. Now, this brings my question, overall is a axel back maybe the better way for me to go if i want something quiet and don't plan to mod the car crazy or turbo it etc....all i want is get a better sound and add a better filter and inlet tube basically. Maybe in like 6 years I'll go crazy when the car is paid off :happyanim: Fujitsubo makes an axel back for the authorize series called "s" so I'm leaning towards that but I would like to hear some of your guys opinions and recommendations on other exhausts and if i should save the money and get a axel back or make the plunge towards a catback. Much help appreciated! |
The 3 quietest exhausts are probably
1. Invidia Q300 2. Greddy SP Elite (axle-back) 3. Perrin resonated |
If your not going to do a header, I'll recommend the 2.5" muffled nameless axle back. It's what I have and under normal conditions sounds close to factory, until you open it up then you get a nice grunt.

Magnaflow sound really good! Not too loud , just perfect. I realy like mine.

Hmm, looked into those exhaust and liking the Greddy axel back as well as that it's affordable considering we get raped here in Canada on parts haha
So currently it's between Greddy and fujitsubo (have a soft spot for fujitsubo) Anybody know how the fujitsubo authorize s axel back (not r) would compare the the greddy sp elite axel back? |
This might seem ridiculous, but a good tune will really liven up the exhaust note. If you don't plan on going crazy with mods, I'd get a tune. The good ones run safer than the factory tune, make more power, and sound better.

+1 Invidia Q300...but must be titantium tips and it's cheap!

Zeta Performance catback is cheap right now ($400) and seems to be quiet..

The Borla Touring sounds pretty good and isn't very loud at all under cruising or idle. It does have a drone at high idle/ warm up.
|
You should check out the new greddy supreme sp if your looking at sp elite. It's a catback and sound good, not that not really that loud also.

My Tanabe single exit catback exhaust is perfect for DD.
Zero drone cruising! Couldn't be happier, rest of exhaust components are stock. |
