Best way to fix paint chips
I have slowly started to find paint chips on my car :( im almost at 3k miles with minimal highway driving. Just got the car in July and its my first new car so it hurts to see the paint being destroyed.
I know it may be sad that i know this.. but there is only 3 paint imperfections i want to fix( 2 are through base coat and 1 is just the clear coat ) Has anyone had any experience with that dr color chip stuff? or should i just get the OEM paint and use my surgical precision to fill them in :D? Probably will be going to get some type of added clear coat as well like opticoat or what ever anyone recommends! Thanks guys :) |
Dr. Colorchip works well but with Satin White Pearl being a tri-coat involving a third layer of tinted clearcoat a perfect match is near impossible.
Opticoat (now OptiGloss) works well but it doesn't substitute for lack of proper car care. I used OptiCoat on my vehicle and it's been on there roughly 4 months working great and I have another vehicle that has had it for close to a year and a half. |
opti coat will help with protecting the finish of your paint, but wont help with rock chips
your better off getting a clear bra on spots that you want to protect |
i clear bra front bumper, fender mirror, roof , and trunk after i got so many rock chips. paint too soft wish i did whole car
