421bhp and 350ft/lb torque on Std engine
My tuner did a dyno run today and made some decent numbers.

Fensport is awesome.
The all wheel drive celica they built is a beast. |
Does anyone know if they track/race that particular car or is that a show car?
Found the answer: http://www.fensport.co.uk/FensportCars/GT86_Race.aspx "The car is still using a completely standard engine and gearbox." - glad to see motor is holding up to this level of power in race conditions |

Awesome. Yea pure Toyota gearheads.
|
just how strong is the stock bottom end then?
as it seems most folks plump for a built engine about the 300bhp mark and I've seen reports of rods coming out when you stray over this limit |

The trick to making the engine survive high horsepower is exactly what this tuner did. Engines get blown by trying to make too much power at low rpm. Notice that the power is a nice smooth buildup to a peak at high revs. You can't turn an engine like this into a low rpm torque monster: if you want that, swap in a V8. A high rpm horsepower monster is just what it is made for. |
Car in video launches in 2nd gear...
