14 base Boxster to 14 FRS..very happy

All,

I recently acquired FRS since my new Boxster was rear ended. The Boxster is an extremely slow car compare to the FRS. I should have purchase the S model instead of the base if I have to do it again but I am happy with my FRS for the tuning options.
It's seem much quicker now with pulley, OFT, intake and OFH..
I have an eye on the Bently GT convertible for a year or two now but still undecided yet.

I can see cross-shopping a BRZ and base Boxster. I can't see cross-shopping a BRZ, base Boxster and a Bentley Continental GT convertible.

If you have multiple luxury vehicles than name won't matters... It's all about enjoyment...On the other hands, my co-worker thinking I am crazy for the Scion purchased over another Porsche but that's just me. I still have my Porsche SUV...
The Bentley is next on the list...

Well it would only be what...$150,000/180,000 difference in price than an FRS.
Well maybe THAT line is a tad trollish!

OH not trollish just pompous!

Bad English too! A Bentley would be shot down on this forum for sure. NOT sporty.

Porsche Boxster base 0-60 approx 5.5s. OP says it's slow but the FR-S is rated at 7.2s.

I clocked mine faster BEFORE OFT. Now its slower but that could be traction loss on stock tires after 30K km. Not complaining though, overall better response across power band.

not entirely serious but kinda serious.

I had a Boxster S and it was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY faster than my FR-S

Bigbadvoodooguru 10-21-2014 08:31 PM

ditto. Dunno about the regular boxster but the S blew the FRS away (not chipped either). I can't imagine the base boxster being that many orders of magnitude slower. My SLK 55 was waay faster too. Unfortunately the gas money + 80 mile one way commute killed that...

DarkSunrise 10-22-2014 10:33 AM

Yeah I don't really understand the Boxster being slower comment either. I had a 2009 Boxster S (310 hp) and it was MUCH faster than the FR-S in a straight line. Even the new 981 base Boxster will be.
