Lights stopped working!

Hi all,

I noticed recently that one of my sidemarkers from diodedynamics stopped working. I did some basic troubleshooting, including swapping sides, pinning new contacts to the led, and nothing could get that sidemarker working.

During some of that troubleshooting, the other side stopped working. In that same day, my front switchbacks stopped illuminating white (they still flash amber for turns). I've been busy so I haven't bothered with it lately.

It wasn't until I was driving home last night and was pulled over for my tail lights being out that I figured I had a major problem.

All of my lights are from diodedynamics, and i'm not knocking them at all I just find it extremely strange. Turn signals still work, both front and back. I haven't noticed any other lighting problem besides what I described. Checked all my fuses, and don't know where else to turn.

Anyone care to help another owner out?

Have you asked @Diode Dynamics?

Have you checked the fuses? Can you put a meter on them and test to see if the bulb is bad or if it is a wiring problem?

There are some electrical gurus on here who can help, just provide some more information.

Sounds like you blew the parking light fuse. I bet one of the contact pins on the sidemarkers is misaligned, causing it to not light up. Then something in the course of troubleshooting, perhaps, or a strange failure of the bulb, caused the circuit to short and blew the parking light fuse, killing all your parking lights (including tail lights).

Please check that fuse, and give us a call so we can replace the sidemarker bulb. Sorry for the trouble! Certainly not a normal occurrence.

Well thank you everyone! I completely forgot about the fuse box underneath the steering column. The fuse is labeled "Tail" but controls the sidemarkers and front parking lights as well, so got it replaced and its good now!

Glad to get a response from @Diode Dynamics, I've put in a warranty claim for the sidemarkers already. Can't wait to get em in and tell everyone how great Diode Dynamics is!
