Mazda has introduced the MX-5 Yusho concept at the AMI Motor Show in Leipzig, Germany.
Named after the Japanese word for victory, the Yusho features a matte white exterior with a carbon fiber diffuser and 17-inch alloy wheels. There's also Recaro sport seats and a suede-wrapped steering wheel.
Power comes from a supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that has been equipped with Cosworth pistons and connecting rods as well as a sports exhaust system. This enables the mill to produce 241 PS (177 kW / 238 hp) and 274 Nm (202 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables the model to hit a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph).

This is nice. Hope the release as a mazdaspeed model.

I love how they release these awesome final editions for those who love that particular model. Of course, America often never gets them. But we did get the RX-8 Spirit R and the previous gen Mazdaspeed Miata with the turbo.

I bet they'll do something like this for the 86/FR-S/BRZ in its last year. But that's a long ways away so not worth speculating about.

Mazda wanted to do a NC Mazdaspeed Miata, but try as they might, they couldn't fit the 2.3 turbo in the engine bay.

With all the aftermarket stickers/decals, I highly doubt we'll be seeing any FI miata on the road. The ND is due out next year or early in 2014 anyway.

That said, this is awesome!

Mazda has announced plans to introduce the MX-5 GT concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Inspired by the MX-5 GT race car, the concept has a black and orange exterior with a carbon fiber front splitter, a rear diffuser and a center-mounted dual exhaust system.
Interior pictures were not released, but Mazda says the cabin has been equipped with Recaro sport seats, a roll cage and a "number of carbon enhancements that help reduce weight."
Power comes from a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter petrol engine that develops 205 hp (153 kW / 208 PS). Performance specifications haven't been announced, but the car also features a sport-tuned suspension and "road slicks."

Mazda has introduced the MX-5 Kuro special edition in the United Kingdom.
Named after the Japanese word for black, the special edition is available in three colors - Velocity Red Mica, Crystal White Pearlescent and Brilliant Black - and features brilliant black accents as well as 17-inch alloy wheels. There's also a sports exhaust system, a faux rear diffuser and "race car" inspired graphics.
Interior changes are limited but include heated leather seats, silver trim and alloy pedals. The car also has special floor mats and red accents on the air vents.
The £18,495 soft top variant features a 1.8-liter engine that develops 126 PS (93 kW / 124 hp) and 167 Nm (123 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 195 km/h (121 mph).
Likewise, the £21,995 hardtop variant has a 2.0-liter engine with 160 PS (118 kW / 158 hp) and 188 Nm (139 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph, the model runs from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 219 km/h (136 mph).
Only 600 units will be available in the United Kingdom and only 400 of them will feature a folding hardtop.
