ST Coilovers in Winter
 

From my brief readings, it seems like ST coilovers are the only sub $1,000 coilovers worth buying. However, some concern was expressed over the rust resistance of galvanized steel.

I daily drive my BRZ in New Hampshire winters - will the ST's be able to withstand the salt onslaught to come? Would you recommend a different budget coilover considering that they will be exposed to the winter?

i've had STs for 2 years back when I had my Audi. They held up fine through the winters (though our winters are a joke). Just spray anti seize on them. If they do rust, there is a 5 year warranty.

Take a look at the Bilstein B14s. They are priced about the same.

They'll be fine.

Has anyone in the northeast, Canada, or anywhere that gets subjected to salt\snow had any issues with their ST's? I'm trying to decide which sub $1000 coils to go with in the spring. I am between these and the Bilstein B14's. I'm on Pro-kit now and want another 1/2-3/4" drop. If there's concern with rust or whatever, can't the outside housings just be sprayed with some type of protectant paint to prevent corrosion?

Is there pros\cons between ST\Bilstein B14 that anyone is aware of? I do not track, just daily driven.

Found ST's for $698 shipped. I don't need them until April but that's a good deal, I might pick them up after more research.

From what I've heard... ST are made by the KW factory. I feel like bilstein is still better, but I don't know why. Its just a feeling. Hopefully an expert answers =p
