Southeast (Florida) 86CUP Interest Thread

Seeing how awesome the west coast has it and I'm a little jealous, I'll be putting forth the effort to get together a sister 86CUP based in Florida, running 4 tracks. Homestead Motor Speedway, Palm Beach International Raceway, Sebring International Raceway, and Daytona Speedway. The ball is already rolling since we found a host club to help us put this together, and hopefully put together a pilot event before the end of the year so we start getting people ready to compete for 2015.

If you haven't already expressed interest in the SoFlo FR-S/BRZ group or Orlando 86, please do so here. We currently have about 35 tentative drivers (mostly novices, but we'll fix that as we have a pool of available instructors). We'll be adopting the Winmax 86 Cup rules with @CSG Mike 's blessing in order to make it accessible.

Should have went with another BRZ. :( Have you talked to @phastafrican ?

@King Tut - I'll trade you: s2k for safety vehicle and you can have mine. (channeling my inner Bernd Maylander).
I've been looped in. Probably won't compete, but will certainly be helping out with getting this going.

Definitely interested! Would you be hosting track day clinics for beginners before the start of competition?

Interested as well.

That is part of the plan. There will be a Time Trial Academy option for those not solo qualified. :)

New to Florida from PA definitely. Interested. Missing the twisty roads and elevation change. Need a reason to drive again in this flat, straight beautiful state lol

Shit by 2015 I might be solo qualified already

In talks with 2 different people regarding timing systems, and trying to get sponsors to cover some costs so we can keep entry fees low. It's not dead, just the legwork being done.
