Rachey's FR-S 10-13-2014 09:26 PM

I agree with taking 680.
Maybe meet at Peets on Calaveras (next to Safeway)?

We've met at Starbucks on the other side of Calaveras but seems too busy when we're leaving...

themajesticone 10-13-2014 09:28 PM

One full tank of E85 should suffice?

2. Me

VroomVroom86 10-13-2014 09:29 PM

Count me in!

Proposed route via 680 is 60 miles. Take it easy on the pedal and we'll make it.

not to contradict anyone here, but if you're coming from SJ, I really like the drive up and over Mt. Hamilton from Alum Rock. The road up is narrow and twisty but if you take it easy it's quite fun. The backside of Mt. Hamilton down to the Junction is one of the nicest drives in the Bay Area. However there may be some repaving work going on in some sections so that is something to think about too.

Rachey's FR-S 10-13-2014 09:34 PM

Just figured an easy drive beforehand then whoever wants to do Mt. Ham can do it after the shindig ;)

cpnslow 10-13-2014 10:59 PM

I'd be up for option 2!

MyRx 10-13-2014 11:36 PM

Either route is fun haha. I've done Mt. Hamilton from Santa Clara and it doesn't seem as far as 680 to Mines Rd. Personally, if I was coming from SJ, route 2 would be my choice but yeah watch out for road work. Plus you guys will have the adrenaline to share with us folks taking the bumpy, rocky Mines route haha

Rosaki 10-14-2014 12:14 AM

Im in either way!

brz408 10-14-2014 03:53 PM

Option 2

but either way I am in

aaguilar3 10-15-2014 12:58 PM

I'd be up for option 2.

Jolaessss 10-15-2014 01:36 PM

3. Me!

I'd prefer the former, but it doesn't matter.

It's all good. I'm still gonna take it easy and go the other way, though. Especially now that it might be damp.

We'll see you guys at the Junction! ;)
@BRZChix, mini caravan? hehe

yaaasss!! hahaha

wait, no, that's @Rollan 's thing haha

cpnslow 10-16-2014 12:39 AM

Cool! I'm in for sure now. Would it be easier to go straight up McKee to Mt. Hamilton? Quimby is a bit out of the way and cuts out a lot of the fun sections between Alum Rock and Grant Ranch.

No matter what, get there safe. =)

We'll see you at the top. Should we setup two caravan spots? Keep the two locations, Peets off Calaveras and Starbucks off McKee so drivers have both options. Whatcha think?

Hey be nice ! LOL. My caravans are fun ! It requires a 10 mile radius, at least 7 stoplights within the perimeter, professional good moral drivers, exclusive line formation, understanding the fundamental building blocks of the road, RF point to point communication, safety precautions are a must and at least 2 Gopros are required. hehe..

MyRx 10-16-2014 04:30 PM

Oh I won't make the SB caravan. I was just saying, I work in Santa Clara but live in the east bay. I find myself commuting home via Mt Hamilton/Mines sometimes. Talk about unwinding.

mizzta21 10-16-2014 09:10 PM

When is this?
