Dealer loaner cars and Carfax reports.

Do dealer loaner cars need to be designated as corporate fleet vehicles or something else on the report? I finally found myself a daily winter beater but the Carfax looks a bit fishy. The car is listed as being offered for sale multiple times over the span of 4 years and its "first owner" supposedly owned the "personal" vehicle for 7 months.

Current dealer couldn't even explain it.....or didn't want to. I'm not going to buy it but am curious to find out what is going on with this particular report.

It was bought, traded in, the dealer that took it in on trade, sold it (probably at auction) to the dealer that is currently offering it for sale.

Source, I do this for a living.

I too sell cars for a living :p

Edit: You can see all the dealerships it has been to. Odd that it wasn't sold at any of the places but its not unheard of. We once had the same Chrysler Aspen for like 4 different periods of time. It kept going to our other dealerships in our network because no one had luck selling it. CarFax looked similar to the one you linked.

It was in great shape, nothing was wrong with it, it was just a beige suv with wood trim and ugly tan seats and donk rims. All in good shape, just not tasteful for the market I guess
