I'm leaning no, with a stratified table for different sizes.

Remember, this is a community effort!

Are you thinking based upon diameter? It seems like that would unfairly punish the people who got showy 24mm thick ones while not really accounting for the weight reduction of the essex sprint kit.

How about lowering the pts value for lowering springs? I think it will help some of the lightly modded street class guys back into stock class. Possibly a better option than increasing stock class total pts allowed.

Having swapped back to stock springs... I'll probably regret suggesting this later if it sticks...

I dont think that should change. It only takes one person to build a stock looking damper to properly damp a lowering spring.

We're not here to cater to show guys at all... points are based on "worst case" for a given setup.

The figures I have in mind are 0.25 for 299mm and less, 0.125 for 335mm and less, and 0 for anything larger in diameter.

I'm also thinking a small penalty for OE replacement 2 piece rotors is appropriate.

That makes sense. how would you work it for people with rear bbks also? Would that just have no effect?

I have *zero* data for that... so I'd just leave it at 0 for now...

well with all my current mods im now in street class. 1.875 points at that. Guessing street class is the one with the most participants.

Wow, under the current rules I'm currently sitting at 6.5 points. The max allowed points for the modified class. A lot of good it will do me though. I've done plenty of car mods but I'm still working on the driver mod :bonk:

I'm sure there are plenty of guys out there running in stock class that would blow me away with just a set of track pads and an alignment. Sounds like fun regardless. When does the 2015 cup officially start?

Oh, and here's a suggestion. How about taking off 0.125 or 0.25 points for aftermarket oil coolers and radiators? You know, to encourage more drivers to get them. Our cars get hot and we're racing in the desert, I would hate to see someone overheat ;)

AFAIK oil cooler, radiator and other cooling mods are free.

I've played with negative points for mods in other series that I've led, and unfortunately it just leads to a budget war...

lol
Well, it was wort a shot :D

I misunderstood him at first too. He meant cooling mods as negative points towards your allotment.

I was suggesting to take away points, not add. Unfortunately Mike said he's tried the negative points thing before and that it doesn't really work. Oh well, it was just a thought.

@CSG Mike

What are the top issues that need to be addressed currently?

I think just fine tuning the rules to address what we've learned this year, to bring more parity to the series
