Scion's free 2 year/25K mile maintenance plan?

What does this include? Is it only good for oil changes? Or everything else like the trans and LSD fluid inspection and replacement?

(Obviously, the parts and fluids and not free so I know I would have to pay for these)

My dealer could not answer my question on the 2 yr/25K free oil change interval with either the severe or normal change frequency.

They did put a sticker in the upper corner of the windshield to bring it back at 3500 miles for a oil change.

The free maintenance only covers the normal maintenance schedule, not the severe one. Doesn't the owner's manual have the schedules?

My dealer just told me that the recommended service schedule for the FR-S is every 7.5k miles. Anybody else hear that? Does that mean they'll only do three oil changes instead of 5?

Scionofglendora 06-04-2012 09:30 PM

If you look on the owners manual all Frs have syntactic oil. the oil gets replace at 1yr or 10,000 miles. Tires need to be rotated at 5,000 miles.

I don't believe that's entirely true. Yes, they come with 0W-20 synthetic oil, but I believe you have the intervals wrong.

It says oil change at 7500 in normal conditions, 3750 in severe conditions.

Not much; it's basically just three oil changes and tire rotations.

DantKR 06-04-2012 10:18 PM

Is it free?

No your forgetting the 15,000 miles service that a pricey one, and 2 years of roadside service.

If the factory recommended maintenance says to, then yes, otherwise no. It only covers the normal maintenance schedule.

I believe if you were to purchase this if it wasn't included, retail is $550. I'd have to double check to be sure, but I'm 80% sure that's what it's listed at in the book we have for all of TFS's programs like Gap Ins, warranties, auto care, etc.

I fail to see anything that would be expensive about the second normal service.

Thanks much! If I knew how to do that "thank you" thing for a post, I would. Can't find where you do that though...

It would be the bottom right of his post. Just to the right of the "Quote" button.

Hmm... I don't got that button. Just the usual "Quote," "Multi-quote," and "Quick reply." Maybe it'll appear after some amount of posting or activity?

Interesting. Maybe after you reach 10 posts?
