Best dual exit muffler delete sound
So I'm looking into a dual exit muffler delete with secondary cat delete... I've listened to berk and gymkhana... Gymkhana sounds louder.. These are only videos tho so it's hard to really tell... I'm looking for a loud throaty sound.. Any ideas from people who actually have differnt muffler deletes???

I think Works makes one the link is for the muffled one but they also make one without the muffler. Not selling this, nor do i have it but i once considered their muffled version because of how clean and quiet it was.

A muffler delete is like buying lowering springs instead of coils. It's just temporary until you buy a catback. I'd just save for a catback if I were you and skip the waste on the muffler delete especially since a catback isn't much more than a dual delete. I had one and ended up with a catback anyways so I'm speaking from experience

i have the nameless 3 inch catback with no mufflers, its sounds proper, doesnt rasp at all. amazing build quality as well!

I have the Berk dual tip.
Right now the rest of the exhaust is stock but I plan to get a resonated mid pipe. The resonator helps a lot, I wouldn't suggest removing it especially if you have a muffler delete. The exhaust is loud, but not unbearable. At 65mph in 6th gear it sits at about 2500rpm, it's almost silent at that engine speed. Idle is a nice low rumble. 2000RPM is probably the most droney you're going to get so just manage your shifting to get through that and not sit on it. Revving up to redline sounds ball tinglingly amazing |

Only reason I got a muffler delete is because I wanted a single exit and there was a guy in my local club with a used Berk single exit that he sold to me for a good deal. In time I will be getting either a Blitz Nur Spec R or having a customer single exit made with a Burns Stainless race muffler and turned down tip. For the time being though $90 gave my car some growl to enjoy with fairly minimal drone, and dropped a good chunk of weight off the back. |

I got the Works axle back with muffler. I DD my car and I really like the sound and overall sound level of the car. I initially looked into something like the q300 for this purpose but now plan to put on a catless UEL header. I think a header with most catbacks will be too loud for me, so I went with the works. Works also makes a midpipe to go with the axle back if you decide it isnt enough for you.

I have a 2.5" overripe and catless track pipe from Motiv Concepts with a dual exit muffler delete from Mach V. I absolutely love it and have zero intentions of putting any kind of muffler on it.

We like the berk dual tip and front pipe setups a lot!
Here's a sound clip here. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXrl6lUCGjU"]FR-S BERK DUAL TIP MUFFLER DELETE & CAT DELETE - YouTube[/ame] Here was the performance figures from the Track pipe from DSPORT Magazine's exhaust shootout. https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...c5&oe=54B30C83 |
I've decided on the j2 quad exit catback... Never heard of the company before but it sounds amazing especially for the price of $400 shipped.. I've read nothing but good thjngs about it.

Sorry for reviving a zombie thread... If both methods (catback/muffler delete) provide the desired sound change, and neither method meaningfully impacts power, what's the difference? In the suspension analogy, coilovers provide a significant performance increase and infinitely greater adjustability over stock/springs. |
