The model also has canards, a carbon fiber roof and a rear diffuser. 35 pictures and full article . |
Definitely digging the rear diffuser.
|
Looks bad ass! Can't believe they won't give it more horsepower, though. It's almost like they're being stubborn!
|
I like the trunk rear brace
|
Rice city...c'mon guys....
|
Yea, I think its a bit rice
|
I eat rice all day and everyday!!! lol
|
I'd eat that rice any day of the week.
|
A serious track toy is now rice?
You guys label anything eh? |
Its not rice its a function track car. Them TRD bumpers are sexy and love that center exit exhaust. And i believe it weighs less then the standard 86
|
ONLY 60k!!!! Put me down or 3
|
Hmmmm well at least they redesigned the bumpers instead of stick on parts.. I like it. Wouldn't catch me in it for that price though. Though it seems to have a quick ratio trans in it too from what I've read. Pretty neat factory ready warrantied track toy for the rich boys out there. Won't ever hit the states though..

TRD 3000GT Supra was a one off also, with pretty much nothing but the widebody kit and the upgraded bilstein shocks.
Toyota doesn't usually upgrade powerplants mid cycle. Supra got VVTi from 97 onwards but that was about it. JZA70 Supra got an upgrade from 3 litre Single Turbo 7MGTE to the 2.5 litre twin turbo 1JZGTE. I think if they were going to introduce a turbo they'd have done it already. |
Everything that isn't a white FRS with 35% tints, Gramlight 57 Extremes, and KWV3s is considered rice on this forum.
Looks good. Toyota is obviously just messing around with the 86 at this point. |

The Supra was originally going to be called the 3000GT as the natural successor to the 2000GT namesake. But since Mitsubishi took that name for the 3000GT/GTO/Stealth whatever the hell you want to call it, they had to rename it the Supra. http://www.trdparts.jp/english/image2/p_gt3000-f.jpg |
Most of these are just incremental improvements that should simply be rolled into production models.
Like this, just welding an extra piece of metal into control arms for rigidity. That adds maybe .20 cents into each. http://www.dpccars.com/gallery/var/a...g?m=1412640600 |
Unless this car laps a racetrack significant faster than a stock one its a poser.
|
60k? One RCF please.
|
Would it kill them to even touch the damn engine? Tune? Better exhaust?? Ffs even Bunta knew it was time to add power to his 86?
/hissy fit |
I love it. If I had money, I'd buy it in a heart beat.
Unfortunately, I don't have money |

$60k and warranty voided if you hit the track or even push the car too hard on the road... Yup, it's for posers/collectors.

This poser is all show......no go
|
I'd buy that front bumper and side skirts.... Dats about it though. I can put some carbon on my own damn hood and call it a day.
|
I like the Toyota emblems.
|
The japanese do this with all their cars. The japanese are very fond of suspension and aero tuning. They build cars with their intended characteristics out of the box and any factory changes and revisions afterwards usually tend to address aero and suspension rather than power.
just look at the ap1 s2000, the ap2, and the cr. the power jump was never that great. only halo cars like the GTR get power bumps to sway buyers of its competition. you wouldn't see any sort of crazy power jump like an american company, such as dodge's challenger hellcat. power jumps are more of an american/european approach. |

FYI, this post isn't pointing directly at you. Orido & Taniguchi didn't have much problem w having light tandem drift the bone stock 86's (only difference is they upped the tire psi) [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGleQH-frJk"]New86 Twin Drift 谷口信輝 MAX”ˆ #lovecars #toyota #subaru #supergt #D1GP - YouTube[/ame] Drift isn't a thing? How about autox? This year's National STX class 1st place drove the twin & STXL 1,2,3 twins finish. Or Yamano driving BRZ taking gymkhana champion. Wanna go crazy? BRZ GT300. All other GT300 have crazy big V8, I6 & V10 engine and BRZ is pull fastest lap time from 2L engine to be in pole position more than other GT300 competitors. All of em by any means have shit load of hp (except GT300). There are enough owners already wrapping their twins around trees/poles with (almost) stock power. Can't even control 200hp and want more power? Blaming lack of driving skill for lack of power/tires or whatever, is pure joke. Cry to Miata owner and see what they say... cuz they'll prob laugh. I don't remember AE86 had snail under the hood as TRD upgrade. Hell, They only lasted few years (4yrs to be correct). Honestly, I don't agree with this $60k 86, it's VERY steep for this car... BUT with all the modification it has on it (which btw has well over $45k parts) and R&T test, air tunnel test and countless hours designed "functional" parts (& don't get me started on BS aero & other so called "functional" parts aftermarket company makes) it's well worth $60k. Is 14R60 for everyone? No, there are only handful (100 to be correct) to understand how much this car is worth and willing to fork over that $60k. Instead of crying and bitching bout how engine don't have power or how expensive parts are, how about appreciate Toyota & Subaru for actually bringing parts out instead of left you nothing like AE86. That's just my 2cents |
I love that front duct!
|
For $60k.. this car is very cheap for all the associated mods.
I love how all the people in this thread saying the car hasn't had any power mods and this car is rice pretty much have hardly modified cars themselves. Sure, lightweight flywheel, revised gearing, forged magnesium wheels and a retuned TRD ecu won't add any more power :bonk: Keen to see if this part will trickle down to be an aftermarket accessory though! http://www.7tune.com/wp-content/uplo...hassis02_l.jpg otoh, I've a feeling these will be collectors items so would be a shame if someone wacked a SC or turbo onto them. |
60k......that's M3 money right there or even a used GTR..... just saying
|
60K and no engine mods. That's a damn shame.
|
WTF guys, did none of you "omg no engine mods" actually click the link.
If you did you would see they actually did modify it. Pretty sure it's putting out more power than you naysayers Pic for proof http://www.dpccars.com/gallery/var/r...g?m=1412640596 |
