Hey Guys,

Just spoke to Ben at AJ Racing and told him I was looking to get a group buy together for these wheels as I see a lot of interest on the forum.

He said he has a few sets coming in October 18th for $250CAD/~$224USD a wheel plus shipping. I asked about better pricing for group buy and he said he will get back to me.

We would need to order 10 sets in all of the same color to be eligible for a group buy. They will be shipped from the manufacturer in Taiwan to AJ Racing in BC Canada, then distributed to us.

In an effort to organize the color choice, I am adding a poll. Remember, we all need to agree on one color.

I will update this post as soon as I hear more info on pricing from Ben.

UPDATE: Ben got back to me last night. It looks like once Ben receives deposits, he can submit the order to the manufacturer in Taiwan, it will then take about 3 months till he receives them at his facility in BC, Canada. He is offering 10% discount pricing which is $900CAD/~$805USD per set plus $150-$200CAD for shipping to the lower 48 states. We also have the option of either a 'STI' logo or '86' logo center cap at no extra charge.

I have a silver BRZ too. I was thinking Gun-Metal or Black, in a matte finish. I do like the look of these rims

I picked silver, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if either gunmetal or black received 10 votes and the discount was significant enough for me to not just buy the silvers at full asking price. I'm not dead set on silver, I just think it looks more OEM for a black car. Gun metal is okay because it's easier to take pictures of, while black looks good in person, but has that murdered out look and doesn't photograph as well.

Just my $0.02, but my vote would be 1) Silver 2) Black 3) Gun Metal

Can you ask Ben about getting "STI" center caps? Sucks on the shipping since I just want them shipped to Seattle, which is pretty close to where they are located in BC. :(

Sweet! Yes, STI Logo for me, and go ahead and include me for black since I'd rather get this group buy going sooner rather than later.

Plus, the tS BRZ seems to only come with black STI wheels, so I guess getting black Spirits will help my BRZ look more JDM OEM anyways. *shrug*

If it is going to take 3 months plus before we actually get our wheels we better be getting on with it guys I don't want to wait till next xmas for wheels

So I've decided that I have to stick with silver. Black really does nothing for me since I have a black BRZ and plan on getting large, black calipers. It'll just look I'm trying too hard to be cool and I'm going more for a "Classy USDM OEM" look that only silver wheels can help with. Sorry guys. I hope you can convert some others to black or just get more votes.

I just wanted to know how this group buy went?

What are the feedback on the wheels?
- Are they well made?
- How good is the fit and finish?
- How close do they look to the actual STi wheel?
- Is the centre cap the same size as the OEM one? If I had spare genuine OEM ones, would they fit?
- Are the wheels track worthy?

Considering the first post was back in October... I guess this GB isn't going through.

Yeah I'm always going back and forth on these. And recently I decided to stay in Alaska, so I'm looking to invest in 18" wheels again. I'm gonna use 15mm spacers, though. Don't want that sunk-in look.

Would like to know if any sort of deal is going on. :D

For the price, I think I'll cave to black wheels. It looks like there are enough votes for more than than enough discounts of wheel sets. The stipulation was "10 sets", so 10 people, and all of the wheels colors got 10 people to vote at least. So then it would come down to commitment. If @AJ PwR has the status for it, they could make the GB official and start taking money.

Added. I'll just get these as an extra set for looking cool. It's the same price for summer tires in 18" and 17" for what I want, so it's kind of a wash.

I'd prefer silver too, but I think the group buy is for black wheels only. This has taken so long to get off the ground that I figure by the time it comes down to paying I can just buy them and sell them if I change my mind yet again. I'm not crazy about black wheels, but for the price and effort I thought it a worthwhile investment.

@mmor101 are you actually organizing this GB? I'm just curious because it has taken so long to hear back for the OP, the shop or anything to do with progress that I'm worried the GB isn't going to go through...
